HURRICANE FORECAST & MONITORING SERVICE

Commanders’ Weather Corporation’s hurricane forecasters have over 80 years of hurricane and marine forecasting experience for the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean. During the 1998 hurricane season we provided hurricane forecasts to tens of marinas, several yacht owners and captains allowing them to safely move their yachts to a hurricane hole or other secure locations. Our hurricane forecasts include:

1) Daily tropical outlook which will contain a graphical depiction of the tropical North Atlantic Ocean west of 45W. The accompanying text will focus on potential trouble spots in the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. This product will be available daily by 0830edt and 1800edt.

2) Tropical depression, storm, and hurricane track maps for the western North Atlantic, from 10 to 50 north latitude and 45 to 100 west longitude. The track maps will be produced as soon as a tropical depression or storm forms. Concise text forecasts available by 0830EDT and 1800 EDT will detail how the tropical cyclone may impact the region.

3) Once a system is within 48 hours of landfall, wind and rainfall profile maps and track probability maps focusing on the affected areas will be produced. Also, a map depicting all current watches and warnings will be produced. These maps will be available to the affected areas by 0830edt, 1230edt, and 1800edt.

4) As part of the service, our meteorologists are also available for verbal consultations.

This information will be made available to you daily during the hurricane season June 1, 2000 through November 30, 2000.

POWER UTILITIES FORECASTS

Commanders' Weather provides site specific forecasts for gas and power generating utility companies.

Our forecasts are tailored to your needs. The number of days forecast and the type of data, such as temperatures, winds, degree days depend on your business. The information from our forecasts can help you decide how much gas to purchase and when to purchase it. Our forecasts will also help in the decision making prior to a heat wave or cold snap which can cause an extra power demand or possible power disruption.

During the winter of 1999/2000, Commanders' Weather is forecasting temperatures, degree days and effective degree days for 3 to 5 days for our New England utilities.
